Portfolio Finance Associate Overview

  • The Portfolio Finance Associate will support financing, liquidity, and balance-sheet needs for diversified investment portfolios.
  • Collaborate with investment teams, prime brokers, lenders, and internal operations to optimize financing structures and capital utilization.

Portfolio Finance Associate Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage portfolio financing arrangements, including securities lending, repo, and secured financing structures.
  • Monitor financing balances, margin requirements, collateral movements, and borrowing costs across portfolios.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to identify opportunities for capital and balance-sheet efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze financing terms, rates, leverage, collateral requirements, and economic considerations.
  • Support onboarding and maintenance of financing relationships with financial institutions.
  • Investigate margin and collateral discrepancies, coordinating resolution with internal and external parties.
  • Prepare reports on financing utilization, portfolio leverage, liquidity, and funding costs.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives for new trades, strategies, and investment opportunities.
  • Participate in risk monitoring and ensure financing activities align with established parameters.

Portfolio Finance Associate Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in securities lending, prime brokerage, repo, or institutional financing.
  • Strong understanding of securities financing and collateral mechanics.
  • Familiarity with equities, fixed income, derivatives, or other traded financial products.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, Python, Bloomberg is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills for managing financial data.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with portfolio managers, traders, and financial institutions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage time-sensitive processes efficiently.
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment is preferred.
