Fund Accountant Overview
- The Fund Accountant role focuses on managing accounting and financial reporting for real estate funds and direct investment vehicles.
- Collaborate with a leading real estate private equity firm managing approximately $3B in assets under management.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP standards and oversee monthly and quarterly NAV reporting processes.
- Contribute to fund-level budgeting, forecasting, and planning to support strategic financial goals.
- Engage with external accounting firms, fund administrators, and custodians for accurate reporting.
- Monitor promote models and calculate IRR while analyzing portfolio returns and performance benchmarks.
- Participate in year-end valuation processes and coordinate partner distributions effectively.
- Supervise and develop assistant controllers, staff, and outsourced accountants to ensure efficient execution of responsibilities.
Fund Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and manage financial reports for real estate funds in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Complete monthly and quarterly NAV reporting for investment funds and annual reporting requirements.
- Oversee cash management processes, including weekly reviews and vendor disbursements.
- Coordinate fund-level budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities to align with organizational goals.
- Assist in tax planning and collaborate with external tax consultants for compliance.
- Engage with external accounting firms, fund administrators, and custodians for accurate financial reporting.

Fund Accountant Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, with 10 years preferred, in fund accounting.
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP standards and financial reporting for real estate funds.
- Experience in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
- Strong analytical skills for IRR calculations and portfolio performance assessments.
- Ability to supervise and develop accounting teams effectively.
- Familiarity with tax planning and compliance processes.
