MEP Superintendent Overview
- The MEP Superintendent will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes for large-scale construction projects.
- Lead field operations from preconstruction to project turnover, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with project management, owners, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor safety performance and enforce site safety standards effectively.
- Support commissioning activities, equipment startup, and system integration processes.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings to address MEP sequencing and constructability.
- Utilize construction technology platforms like Procore and Bluebeam to streamline operations.

MEP Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and coordinate all MEP field operations from preconstruction through turnover.
- Manage mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection subcontractors onsite.
- Drive project schedule milestones related to commissioning and system integration.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with contract documents and specifications.
- Conduct coordination meetings focused on MEP sequencing and constructability.
- Monitor safety performance and enforce site safety standards effectively.
- Assist with scheduling, look-ahead planning, and resolving field conflicts.
- Support commissioning activities and turnover documentation processes.
MEP Superintendent Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; advanced education is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an MEP Superintendent or similar role.
- Experience with data center, mission critical, or large commercial projects preferred.
- Proficiency in construction technology platforms such as Procore or Bluebeam is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Understanding of electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of commissioning and startup processes is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications effectively.
