MEP Superintendent Overview

• The MEP Superintendent will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes for large-scale construction projects.
• Lead field operations from preconstruction to project turnover, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with project management, owners, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
• Monitor safety performance and enforce site safety standards effectively.

MEP Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead and coordinate all MEP field operations from preconstruction through turnover.
• Manage mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection subcontractors onsite.
• Drive project schedule milestones related to commissioning and system integration.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with contract documents and specifications.
• Conduct coordination meetings focused on MEP sequencing and constructability.
• Monitor safety performance and enforce site safety standards effectively.
• Assist with scheduling, look-ahead planning, and resolving field conflicts.
• Support commissioning activities and turnover documentation processes.

MEP Superintendent Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; advanced education is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an MEP Superintendent or similar role.
• Experience with data center, mission critical, or large commercial projects preferred.
• Proficiency in construction technology platforms such as Procore or Bluebeam is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Understanding of electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Knowledge of commissioning and startup processes is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications effectively.
