Clinical Data Scientist Overview

  • The Clinical Data Scientist will apply advanced analytics to support clinical development and innovative study designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create data visualizations and dashboards for trial monitoring and decision-making.
  • Utilize R programming and R Shiny applications to develop scalable analytical tools and reusable code components.
  • Implement modern software development practices using GitHub and GitLab for version control and collaborative workflows.
  • Conduct exploratory analyses and simulations to inform clinical trial strategies and operational decisions.
  • Support the development of statistical analysis plans and contribute to publication-ready visualizations and analyses.
  • Stay updated on advancements in clinical data visualization, R ecosystem, and innovative trial methodologies.
  • This remote contract role offers potential for conversion to a permanent position based on mutual fit.

Clinical Data Scientist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards and tools for clinical trial monitoring using R and R Shiny.
  • Develop reusable R code and visualization components for scalable applications across clinical programs.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish data requirements and build reliable data pipelines.
  • Conduct advanced analyses and simulations to evaluate trial designs and performance metrics.
  • Implement GitHub/GitLab practices for collaborative development and documentation workflows.
  • Support statistical programming and data management in delivering traceable analytical datasets.
  • Develop visualizations for publications, investigator communications, and internal discussions.
  • Stay informed on emerging data sources and incorporate them into analytical workflows.

Clinical Data Scientist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, scientific, or technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in clinical data analysis, biostatistics, or related functions.
  • Proficiency in R programming, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Experience developing R Shiny applications and dashboards for clinical trial monitoring.
  • Familiarity with GitHub/GitLab for collaborative development and version control.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial data structures, study design, and operational processes.
  • Preferred experience with SDTM, ADaM, TFLs, and clinical data standards.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities.
