Controller Overview

Controller Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for the endowment portfolio and related entities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and expense payment processes.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax activities with third-party accounting firms.
- Identify financial reporting risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure compliance.
- Support governance processes, including scheduling and preparation of stakeholder meeting materials.
- Draft and maintain policy documentation for critical activities and controls.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee operational tasks within the team.
- Participate in special projects, providing analytical and strategic support.
Controller Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a strong academic record.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 7 years preferred.
- CPA certification strongly preferred, demonstrating advanced accounting expertise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial systems.
- Knowledge of asset allocation principles and alternative investment strategies is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills with attention to detail.
