• The Accounting Manager oversees financial records and ensures compliance with GAAP standards.

Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee month-end close processes and ensure proper application of GAAP.
• Prepare and review financial reports, including board analysis and tax returns.
• Monitor general ledger systems for accuracy and implement corrections.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms and auditing personnel.
• Assist in setting short- and long-term financial goals and strategies.
• Develop and administer departmental budgets and policies.
• Provide administrative direction and supervision for efficient operations.
• Train, evaluate, and manage accounting staff performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements for financial operations.

Accounting Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
• Minimum of six years of corporate accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in general ledger software, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
• Strong interpersonal and managerial skills with supervisory experience.
• Experience in healthcare reimbursement and non-profit tax preparation is advantageous.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues effectively.
• Knowledge of cost report preparation and financial audits.
