Perioperative Nurse Director Overview

  • The Perioperative Nurse Director oversees daily operations and strategic planning for surgical services, ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Coordinate department budgets, productivity targets, and resource allocation for effective operational management.
  • Promote staff development, satisfaction, and adherence to professional standards through leadership and mentorship.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the care team to resolve issues and improve satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with professional and regulatory standards.

Perioperative Nurse Director Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field; candidates completing a program considered.
  • Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience in surgical services.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in perioperative settings.
  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing within six months of hire.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality improvement processes, and financial management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills essential for success.
