Superintendent Overview

  • The Superintendent will oversee construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.
  • Manage on-site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout project execution.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to on-site teams, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the organization's goal of achieving $350M in construction costs within three years.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Supervise subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality and efficiency in their work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and address potential issues.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements and challenges.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Superintendent Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in construction management or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management; 10 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing healthcare construction projects in occupied environments.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Ability to work on-site and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
  • Experience with Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, or Harris Health projects is highly desirable.
