Job Description

Senior Accountant Overview

  • The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions within the management company.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
  • Gain exposure to private equity fund operations and cross-functional tasks including tax compliance and compensation administration.
  • Utilize ERP systems like NetSuite for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Contribute to intercompany allocations and expense-sharing arrangements among management company entities.
  • Support tax compliance processes, including partnership tax filings and state/local tax matters.
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls documentation and desk procedures for accounting processes.
  • Participate in systems implementations and automation initiatives within the Accounting and Finance function.
  • Work closely with senior finance leadership to enhance operational efficiency.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain intercompany allocations and expense-sharing arrangements.
  • Support payroll-adjacent tasks, including compensation statements and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate tax compliance workstreams with external tax advisors.
  • Assist with financial reviews and presentations for firm leadership.
  • Enhance desk procedures and internal controls documentation.
  • Utilize ERP systems for data reconciliation and reporting.
  • Engage in automation initiatives to improve accounting processes.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in private equity or financial services.
  • CPA certification or active pursuit preferred.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with partnership tax concepts is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential financial information.
