Senior Accountant Overview
- The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions within the management company.
- Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
- Gain exposure to private equity fund operations and cross-functional tasks including tax compliance and compensation administration.
- Utilize ERP systems like NetSuite for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Contribute to intercompany allocations and expense-sharing arrangements among management company entities.
- Support tax compliance processes, including partnership tax filings and state/local tax matters.
- Assist in maintaining internal controls documentation and desk procedures for accounting processes.
- Participate in systems implementations and automation initiatives within the Accounting and Finance function.
- Work closely with senior finance leadership to enhance operational efficiency.
Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Maintain intercompany allocations and expense-sharing arrangements.
- Support payroll-adjacent tasks, including compensation statements and benefits administration.
- Coordinate tax compliance workstreams with external tax advisors.
- Assist with financial reviews and presentations for firm leadership.
- Enhance desk procedures and internal controls documentation.
- Utilize ERP systems for data reconciliation and reporting.
- Engage in automation initiatives to improve accounting processes.
Senior Accountant Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in private equity or financial services.
- CPA certification or active pursuit preferred.
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with partnership tax concepts is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style.
