Electronics Assembly Technician Overview

  • As an Electronics Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality electronic assemblies for a leading manufacturing organization.
  • Engage in hands-on tasks such as soldering, wiring, and testing electronic components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine prototypes and enhance production workflows for efficiency and quality.
  • Utilize advanced testing equipment to troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies effectively and accurately.
  • Interpret schematics and engineering drawings to ensure precise assembly processes and adherence to specifications.
  • Document procedures, modifications, and repairs to maintain comprehensive and accurate production records.

Electronics Assembly Technician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assemble and solder electronic components onto PCBs with precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Fabricate and route wiring harnesses and connectors for electronic systems with accuracy.
  • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electronic assemblies to ensure quality.
  • Interpret and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings accurately in assembly tasks.
  • Operate and maintain electronic testing equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters, for diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine prototypes and optimize production processes for better outcomes.
  • Document testing procedures, modifications, and repairs thoroughly for future reference.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards in all assembly and testing activities to maintain compliance.

Electronics Assembly Technician Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in electronics or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics assembly and testing is essential.
  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings is necessary.
  • Skilled in using electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 certification is preferred for this role.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborative teamwork and reporting are essential.
