Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Accurately code transactions across multiple dimensions and maintain descriptive memos.
- Reconcile financial accounts and ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including preparing journal entries.
- Support accounts payable processes, including bill entry and payment preparation.
- Manage accounts receivable tasks, such as invoice generation and payment application.
- Post payroll entries and reconcile payroll clearing accounts.
- Organize compliance-related information and assist with preparation tasks.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members, ensuring confidentiality.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and utilize firm tools effectively.
Accountant Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online preferred.
- Solid understanding of core bookkeeping functions, including A/P, A/R, and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with payroll and sales tax functions is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and balance competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
