Job Description

Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse will deliver high-quality nursing care to clients, ensuring adherence to interdisciplinary care plans and professional standards.
  • Provide injections and administer medications as prescribed, prioritizing client safety and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate client care with interdisciplinary teams, external providers, and case management services for comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments to evaluate client health status and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on health management, prevention strategies, and treatment compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing activities and client interactions.
  • Support advocacy efforts to address homelessness and HIV/AIDS crises, contributing to community health improvement.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to evaluate and enhance nursing standards and practices.
  • Work on-site in a dynamic healthcare environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer prescribed medications and inoculations, including STAT treatments, ensuring adherence to medical protocols.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring seamless client care transitions.
  • Conduct group sessions for clients and caregivers, providing education and support on health-related topics.
  • Assess physical factors affecting clients' health and treatment response, addressing barriers to optimal functioning.
  • Document nursing evaluations, care plans, and recommendations in client records promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to integrate external treatment orders into client care plans.
  • Monitor client compliance with prescribed treatments and incorporate findings into care plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning to ensure comprehensive client support and treatment.
  • Provide crisis and routine nursing care, adapting to client needs in a demanding healthcare setting.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Must hold a current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of New York.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
  • Experience with primary care, adult and pediatric populations, and electronic medical records beneficial.
  • Proficiency in administering injections and managing client care in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary care planning and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish and English are highly desirable.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate client records.
