Job Description

Project Architect Overview

  • The Project Architect role involves leading architectural design and planning for diverse projects, including healthcare, education, residential, and commercial sectors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including subconsultants, to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Support the Project Manager in client meetings, design discussions, and construction administration tasks.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to Project Technicians and coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Utilize technical expertise in design and construction documentation to deliver high-quality architectural solutions.
  • Leverage knowledge of New York State building codes and government agency requirements for compliance and innovation.

Project Architect Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead architectural design efforts for projects across healthcare, education, residential, and commercial sectors.
  • Coordinate with subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Assist in client meetings, design team discussions, and construction administration processes.
  • Delegate tasks to Project Technicians and oversee their contributions to project success.

Project Architect Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Architect in New York State preferred but not mandatory.
  • 6-10 years of professional experience in architectural design and planning.
  • Prior experience with NYS OGS or other government agencies is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office suite for project execution.
  • Thorough knowledge of New York State building codes and regulations.
  • Strong technical design, construction documentation, and graphic presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration abilities to foster team success.
