Customer Service Overview

Customer Service Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide empathetic and professional service to participants through various communication channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Address participant inquiries regarding eligibility, benefits, claims, and plan-related matters with accuracy and clarity.
  • Research and resolve participant concerns, ensuring effective solutions and timely responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to coordinate eligibility updates and resolve issues.
  • Assist participants with enrollment processes, forms, and navigating online resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant interactions and ensure clear records are kept.
  • Escalate complex concerns to appropriate team members for additional assistance when needed.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to team initiatives as required.

Customer Service Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in customer service or healthcare are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, receptionist, or scheduler roles.
  • Preferred experience in TPA, insurance carrier, or healthcare-related positions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and a positive demeanor.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a genuine desire to serve others and learn.
  • Dependability and flexibility to adapt to potential schedule changes, including occasional Saturdays.
