Registered Nurse Overview

• The Registered Nurse will provide clinical supervision and direct patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Ensure adherence to nursing standards and organizational policies to maintain patient safety and satisfaction.
• Coordinate and manage daily team huddles, scheduling, and delegation of tasks to optimize workflow.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive care to pediatric and adult patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within the required timeframe.
• Support staff development through mentoring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Manage clinical supplies inventory and ensure readiness of equipment for patient care.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs).
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately and ensure completion of assigned tasks.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
• Coordinate care and interventions, considering age-related characteristics and physical development.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
• Conduct point-of-care tests and document results in the EHR.
• Review patient charts for missing labs and reports, ensuring comprehensive care delivery.
• Maintain infection control and environmental safety standards.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
• Proficiency in professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices.
• Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient care and team collaboration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions within scope of practice.
