Job Description

Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse will oversee and provide clinical supervision to the patient care team, ensuring high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Organize and manage care team schedules, delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring completion in compliance with nursing standards.
  • Provide professional nursing care, including administering medications, coordinating interventions, and maintaining patient records.
  • Support the development and training of care team staff, offering mentorship and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
  • Maintain quality control standards and address safety hazards to establish a secure work environment.
  • Utilize electronic health records for documentation and patient care coordination.
  • Prepare clinical supplies and equipment to support physician examinations and treatments.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, managing schedules and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Provide general nursing care, including medication administration and patient treatment coordination.
  • Conduct patient assessments, review charts, and participate in care team huddles.
  • Ensure adherence to nursing standards and organizational policies.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical chart reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, patient confidentiality, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
