Job Description

Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care and clinical supervision to the patient care team, ensuring high standards of patient satisfaction and safety.
  • Coordinate care team activities, including scheduling, delegation, and mentoring, to maintain efficient operations and quality care delivery.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with nursing standards, local, state, and federal guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and manage clinical materials and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care and physician support during treatments and examinations.
  • Conduct patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and document care in the electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with care team members to coordinate care interventions and maintain patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, fostering professional growth and team development.
  • Ensure infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality standards are upheld in all practices.
  • Work independently within the scope of practice, making clinical decisions and delegating tasks appropriately.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and protocols.
  • Coordinate daily huddles, reviewing patient charts for missing labs, reports, and open orders.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, documenting progress notes within 24 hours.
  • Assist physicians during patient treatments, examinations, and testing, ensuring optimal care delivery.
  • Manage clinical supplies inventory and ensure readiness for patient care activities.
  • Conduct point-of-care tests and review active medication lists with patients.
  • Participate in applicant screening, selection, and training processes for care team staff.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and follow up to ensure completion, maintaining efficient team operations.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
  • Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices to evaluate and provide patient care.
  • Skill in applying and modifying professional nursing methods and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards and establish a safe work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient care and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks effectively.
