Collections Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Produce accounts receivable aging and delinquency reports using applicable operating systems independently.
- Document customer accounts with collection notes, payment promises, and escalation points in the system.
- Make professional outbound collection calls to improve customer relations and resolve billing issues.
- Monitor and review assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with company DSO guidelines.
- Identify delinquency causes, discuss solutions with management, and follow up on payment arrangements.
- Safeguard confidentiality of records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Mail correspondence and fax documents to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and complex assignments effectively.
Collections Specialist Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years of collections experience, preferably with large customer bases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
