Job Description

Compensation Manager Overview

  • The Compensation Manager will design, implement, and manage comprehensive compensation programs for a dynamic organization.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices.
  • Support compensation strategy related to collective bargaining agreements and organizational changes.
  • Conduct market analyses and benchmarking to maintain competitive positioning in the industry.
  • Leverage HR systems and technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability of compensation processes.
  • Provide guidance on complex compensation scenarios across diverse business functions.
  • Deliver training and support to stakeholders on compensation practices and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state and international compensation laws and regulations.
  • Partner with external vendors to optimize compensation tools and data sources.

Compensation Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and administer base salary, incentive programs, and compensation processes.
  • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking analyses to inform pay decisions.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on annual incentive planning initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external compensation vendors and consultants.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Enhance tools, reporting, and processes to drive automation and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and distribute employee compensation statements ensuring accuracy and quality control.
  • Provide guidance to managers on pay decisions and compensation practices.
  • Support compliance with U.S. and international compensation laws and regulations.

Compensation Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in compensation management or related roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with HR information systems and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of U.S. multi-state compensation compliance and regulations.
  • CCP certification or similar preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to handle complex compensation scenarios.
  • Experience in unionized environments and collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
