Job Description

Pharmacy Technician Overview

  • The Pharmacy Technician will provide medication counseling and assistance to minimize gaps in treatment, collaborating with pharmacists and healthcare providers.
  • This is a remote contract position requiring bilingual Spanish skills and stable work history.
  • Work schedule includes Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays, with flexibility for days off during the week.
  • Support members in achieving medication adherence by addressing barriers and facilitating access to prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with community pharmacies and healthcare teams to monitor and communicate medication treatment plans.
  • Perform health assessments to identify factors affecting medication adherence and provide solutions.
  • Document care delivered and communicate relevant information to healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain professional communication standards.

Pharmacy Technician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review medication lists to identify and eliminate barriers to therapy, ensuring proper adherence.
  • Facilitate member access to medications by obtaining refills, setting appointments, and addressing financial issues.
  • Partner with pharmacists and healthcare providers to integrate medication therapy management interventions.
  • Monitor member medication adherence through collaboration with community pharmacies.
  • Conduct patient health assessments to collect medication profiles and identify adherence barriers.
  • Handle member and provider communications telephonically, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Document care activities and communicate relevant information to healthcare teams.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support medication adherence and healthcare management.

Pharmacy Technician Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician or registered/licensed Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
  • Experience in clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and pharmacists regarding medication issues.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are mandatory for this position.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Medication Therapy Management Certificate.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
