Systems Engineer Overview
- The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing technical health across client accounts, ensuring stability, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and outcomes.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and proactive risk reduction for client environments.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, driving continuous improvement and standardization.
- Ensure client environments are documented, compliant, and optimized for performance.
- Support VCIO planning with actionable technical insights and recommendations.
- Maintain high standards for security, documentation, and change control processes.
- Participate in hybrid work arrangements, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Own technical health for assigned accounts, understanding infrastructure, cloud services, and applications.
- Provide technical input for roadmaps, budgets, and project scoping, translating goals into plans.
- Act as escalation engineer for complex issues across identity, endpoints, and cloud layers.
- Drive proactive improvements, identifying and remediating security gaps and risks.
- Maintain and improve client documentation, standards, and configuration records.
- Oversee technical implementations, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and setting expectations.
- Contribute to QBRs with insights on service trends and recommendations.
Systems Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
- 7+ years of IT experience, with 2+ years in client-facing technical roles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune device management.
- Knowledge of Azure fundamentals and Azure Virtual Desktop management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across identity, endpoint, cloud, and networking layers.
- Preferred certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, Endpoint Administrator Associate, ITIL foundations.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks with strong organizational skills.
