Job Description

Sample Management Coordinator Overview

  • The Sample Management Coordinator supports the gene therapy program pipeline, ensuring efficient GMP sample management activities for internal and external manufacturing/testing.
  • Collaborates in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality results while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Handles routine GMP sample management tasks, including receipt, aliquoting, transactions in LIMS, distribution, and disposal.
  • Coordinates shipments of samples to external testing laboratories, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Supports laboratory operations such as equipment and laboratory cleaning, inventory control, and logbook management.
  • Maintains laboratory operational readiness and contributes to troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Handles hazardous materials responsibly, adhering to OSHA and client procedures for safe storage and disposal.
  • Ensures compliance with SOPs and cGMP requirements, following good documentation practices and safety regulations.

Sample Management Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Execute Quality Control Sample Management tasks supporting GMP Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing processes.
  • Manage incoming sample receipt, aliquoting, LIMS transactions, distribution to testing laboratories, and disposal.
  • Coordinate sample shipments to external testing laboratories, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform routine laboratory operations, including cleaning, inventory control, and logbook management.
  • Maintain laboratory operational readiness, assisting with troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely, adhering to OSHA and client-specific procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, cGMP requirements, and good documentation practices.
  • Support laboratory operations during holidays and weekends as needed.

Sample Management Coordinator Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience in a GMP environment.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to support holiday and weekend work schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
