Fund Accounting Supervisor Overview

  • The Fund Accounting Supervisor will oversee accounting and reporting activities for private equity fund clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, fund managers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional client service and operational excellence.
  • Take ownership of client deliverables, including financial statements, NAV packages, and investor reporting.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, reporting, and operational efficiency within the organization.
  • Engage directly with fund CFOs, controllers, and other client contacts to build strong relationships.
  • Participate in onboarding new funds and implementing new client relationships effectively.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and scaling efforts as the firm continues to grow.

Fund Accounting Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day fund accounting activities, including NAV calculations, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax providers, and other external service providers to meet deadlines.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior fund accountants, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Assist with complex calculations, including waterfalls, carried interest, and management fees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of client deliverables, maintaining high standards of service.
  • Lead onboarding processes for new funds and implement scalable operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to drive strategic initiatives and organizational growth.

Fund Accounting Supervisor Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund accounting and reporting processes.
  • Experience with NAV calculations, capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
  • Proficiency in managing complex fund structures and multiple entities.
  • CPA certification and/or Big 4 accounting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
