Registered Nurse Overview

• The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical supervision and professional nursing care to patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Coordinate and manage patient care activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive healthcare services.
• Support patient satisfaction initiatives and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs).
• Manage clinical supplies and ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Supervise and delegate tasks to care team members, ensuring completion and adherence to standards.
• Coordinate daily huddles and manage care team schedules effectively.
• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and performing point-of-care tests.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments, preparing necessary equipment and materials.
• Review patient charts to ensure completeness and address any missing information.
• Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols in the clinical environment.
• Document patient care activities in the EHR system within required timeframes.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to maintain operational efficiency.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices essential.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical chart reporting required.
• Skill in applying nursing principles to provide patient care and recommend solutions.
• Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
