Job Description

Pediatric Nurse Supervisor Overview

  • The Pediatric Nurse Supervisor oversees patient care delivery and supervises field staff in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts in-home supervisory visits to assess patient needs and care plan implementation.
  • Provides coaching and training to field staff during visits, ensuring quality care.
  • Manages a caseload of 25-30 patients, ensuring personalized and effective care.
  • Collaborates with intake, scheduling, and operations for seamless patient transitions.
  • Participates in on-call rotations, addressing clinical concerns and incidents.
  • Supports quality improvement initiatives through chart audits and process enhancements.
  • Works both in-office and in the field, balancing administrative and clinical duties.
  • Ensures culturally sensitive, age-appropriate care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Pediatric Nurse Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct required supervisory visits per state regulations and agency policies.
  • Evaluate field staff performance and competency in delivering patient care.
  • Identify and address clinical concerns, care gaps, and safety issues.
  • Document patient assessments and supervisory visits accurately in the EMR system.
  • Respond to clinical questions and incidents from staff, patients, and families.
  • Collaborate with intake and scheduling teams to optimize patient care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs through audits and evaluations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with care standards.
  • Maintain reliable transportation for field visits across designated territories.

Pediatric Nurse Supervisor Job Requirements

  • Active New York RN license in good standing required.
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience, including home care and supervisory roles.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification mandatory.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records; familiarity with HHA exchange preferred.
  • Knowledge of UAS system and NYSDOH home care regulations advantageous.
  • Reliable transportation, valid NY driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance required.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and assessment skills essential.
