Audit Support Specialist Overview

  • The Audit Support Specialist will assist the Audit Readiness & Compliance team in managing audit workflows and ensuring compliance with established processes.
  • Coordinate audit requests, track Prepared by Client (PBC) items, and support internal audit tracking and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain organized documentation repositories to ensure accessibility and audit traceability for stakeholders.
  • Develop dashboards and visual summaries to provide leadership with insights into audit progress and outstanding action items.
  • Collaborate with leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
  • Perform initial completeness checks on audit submissions, ensuring required documentation and accuracy.
  • Support the development of tracking tools for internal audits and corrective action plans, including timelines and deliverables.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance audit efficiency and compliance.
  • This hybrid role combines onsite collaboration with remote flexibility to optimize productivity.

Audit Support Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate, distribute, and track Prepared by Client (PBC) requests for external audits.
  • Monitor the status of audit requests to ensure timely submissions and perform proactive follow-ups.
  • Perform initial completeness checks on audit submissions, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain and update records of internal PBC contacts and document lessons learned for process improvement.
  • Support the development of tracking tools for internal audits and corrective action plans, including timelines and ownership.
  • Develop dashboards and visual summaries to provide leadership insights into audit progress and risks.
  • Maintain organized audit documentation repositories to ensure accessibility and traceability.
  • Assist in audit coordination activities, including research, data compilation, and status reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret audit requests and translate them into actionable tasks.

Audit Support Specialist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, audit support, or financial operations.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, audit processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for tracking and visualization.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and tracking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and stakeholders efficiently.
  • Familiarity with audit readiness, compliance initiatives, or internal audit processes is a plus.
