Vendor Management Specialist Overview

  • The Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing vendor relationships and credentialing processes in a healthcare environment.
  • This fully remote, contract role involves managing credentialing verification organization (CVO) operations and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address credentialing inquiries and issues, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Prepare and manage Credentialing Committee agendas, provider summaries, and reporting to support organizational goals.
  • Monitor provider networks for compliance and update records to ensure accurate credentialing data.
  • Coordinate audits of delegated vendors and oversee corrective action plans to maintain compliance.
  • Support special projects and contribute to process improvements within the credentialing domain.
  • Utilize advanced MS Office tools, DocuSign, and SharePoint to manage documentation and workflows effectively.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and evolving processes to achieve organizational objectives.

Vendor Management Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily credentialing cases, updating notes, and assigning tasks to credentialing staff.
  • Communicate feedback and resolve issues with the credentialing verification organization (CVO).
  • Coordinate Medical Director approvals for providers and facilities, updating statuses in the CVO platform.
  • Monitor provider network changes and credentialing statuses, ensuring accurate data imports into CVO systems.
  • Prepare and present reports for Credentialing Committee and other organizational meetings.
  • Conduct audits of delegated vendors and oversee corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to retrieve and process data for credentialing purposes.
  • Attend regular meetings with CVO to address issues and discuss solutions.
  • Support special projects and other duties as required by business needs.

Vendor Management Specialist Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare vendor management and credentialing.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, DocuSign, and SharePoint for documentation and workflows.
  • Experience in healthcare industry settings such as managed care organizations or hospitals.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in complex environments with changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage audits and compliance deliverables effectively.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving results.
