RN Director Emergency Department Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Emergency Department to achieve operational and clinical excellence.
• Manage staff relations, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, and professional development initiatives for department staff.
• Monitor departmental budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective operations.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Lead initiatives to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical protocols and operations.
• Evaluate and justify the need for new systems, equipment, and supplies, ensuring optimal functionality and availability.

RN Director Emergency Department Job Requirements

• Current Arizona RN license or Compact RN License with Arizona endorsement.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and Handle with Care.
• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department nursing and leadership experience.
• Preferred 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
• Master's degree in nursing or a relevant field is advantageous.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.
