Superintendent Overview

  • The Superintendent will oversee large-scale industrial and automotive projects for a leading general contractor in the Midwest region.
  • Ensure project completion within budget, schedule, and quality standards while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project goals effectively.
  • Provide leadership and direction to on-site construction teams, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Monitor construction progress and address any issues or delays promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and practices.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, reports, and budgets.
  • Resolve on-site issues and provide solutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate project progress and challenges to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on-site.

Superintendent Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in construction management are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management; 10 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale industrial and automotive construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on-site and adapt to dynamic construction environments.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards on all projects.
  • Experience in the Midwest construction industry is advantageous.
