Real Estate Paralegal Overview

  • The Real Estate Paralegal will support complex commercial real estate financing transactions for a leading legal practice.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients on high-profile real estate finance projects.
  • Manage due diligence processes, including title and survey review and analysis.
  • Draft and review real estate finance documents under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate and facilitate complex closings, ensuring smooth execution of transactions.
  • Conduct legal and factual research on real estate finance issues.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and third parties throughout transactions.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive workplace environment.

Real Estate Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage all aspects of transactional due diligence for real estate finance matters.
  • Review and analyze title and survey documents to ensure compliance.
  • Draft and assist with real estate finance documentation under attorney guidance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate closings, including preparation of closing checklists.
  • Conduct research on real estate finance issues specific to New York.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and third parties during transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive closing binders and post-closing deliverables.
  • Utilize industry-standard software platforms for document management and e-recording.

Real Estate Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with a Paralegal certificate required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate finance paralegal work, with 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in title and survey review and analysis.
  • Familiarity with New York real property statutes and recording practices.
  • Experience with software platforms like iManage, Excel, and ACRIS e-Recording system.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
