Trading Assistant Overview

  • The Trading Assistant will support the Global Relative Value Trading team in a dynamic, fast-paced investment environment.
  • Collaborate with traders to ensure accurate trade execution and robust risk management processes.
  • Gain exposure to global markets, portfolio construction, and trading strategy implementation.
  • Contribute to the management of diversified global macro and relative value portfolios.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including Portfolio Managers, Operations, and Compliance.

Trading Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support traders in executing and booking trades across fixed income markets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate trade capture within front-office trading systems.
  • Monitor trade flows and resolve booking discrepancies with precision.
  • Collaborate with middle and back office teams to address trade breaks and settlement issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of trading activity and amendments for compliance purposes.
  • Monitor desk positions, P&L, inventory, and risk exposures throughout the trading day.
  • Assist traders with risk reporting, scenario analysis, and position management tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and control processes for efficiency.
  • Contribute to the testing and implementation of system enhancements and workflow automation.

Trading Assistant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably buyside, with solid rates exposure.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income and currency products, including bonds, IRS, Repo, and derivatives.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb, and Markit.
  • Proficiency in relative value trading concepts and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Highly organized with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in technology and innovation.
