Occupational Therapist Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct clinical assessments to determine patient needs and therapy appropriateness.
• Develop, document, and revise individualized care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
• Coordinate and oversee therapy sessions, ensuring alignment with patient goals.
• Document therapy progress in agency-specific EMR systems accurately and timely.
• Apply infection control protocols and standard precautions during patient care activities.
• Provide treatment for various disorders based on medical referrals and therapy assessments.
• Collaborate with schedulers to finalize patient schedules and appointment times.
• Support professional development through mandatory continuing education requirements.

Occupational Therapist Job Requirements

• Active Florida Occupational Therapist License is mandatory for this role.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health therapy preferred.
• Proficiency in multiple EMR systems such as Kantime, Kinnser, Axxess, and Homecare Homebase.
• High School Diploma or GED is required for educational qualification.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are essential.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills to manage patient records effectively.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
• Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage.
