Overview

  • Serve as the welcoming face for patients, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout their visit.
  • Perform essential receptionist duties, including managing phone calls, scheduling, and addressing patient inquiries efficiently.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems to streamline patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance details, and obtain necessary documentation for seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate patient flow by liaising with healthcare providers and addressing scheduling adjustments.
  • Ensure patients are prepared for appointments with required documentation and instructions.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory, placing orders to support operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance at all times.
  • Provide coverage during extended hours and weekends to support patient care needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Schedule appointments and procedures, ensuring all required documentation is prepared.
  • Retrieve referrals, authorizations, and eligibility verifications as required for patient services.
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies, communicating inventory needs to management.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
  • Provide additional coverage during extended hours and weekends to meet operational demands.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Office Administration program is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Medical Receptionist or 1 year of clerical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EMR systems is essential.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Professional phone etiquette and self-motivation are required for success.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality practices is essential.
