Accounting Supervisor Overview

  • The Accounting Supervisor will oversee financial operations for regulated clients in the financial services industry, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
  • This remote role offers occasional travel to client sites, providing flexibility and dynamic work experiences.

Accounting Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise the full-cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities for clients.
  • Manage monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze general ledger activity and prepare balance sheet analyses for various accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly FOCUS reports for broker-dealers.
  • Calculate monthly net capital, including non-allowable assets, haircut charges, and aggregate indebtedness.
  • Assist in preparing regulatory filings and annual financial statements for clients.
  • Support clients during annual audits and regulatory exams, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and Excel for financial operations and reporting tasks.

Accounting Supervisor Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; 7 years preferred.
  • FINRA Series 27 FinOp license preferred; willingness to obtain within one year required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; solid understanding of US GAAP standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for client interactions.
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to client sites.
  • Self-starter with reliable follow-through and commitment to excellence.
