Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee the full-cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities.
• Manage monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform detailed analysis of general ledger activity and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Calculate broker-dealer clients’ regulatory net capital and assist with regulatory filings.
• Support clients during annual audits and regulatory exams, ensuring compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and related documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to address accounting and compliance challenges effectively.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA license preferred.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel for accounting tasks.
• FINRA Series 27 FinOp license preferred; willingness to obtain within one year.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for balance sheet analysis.
