- The School Nurse – Supervisor oversees the School Health Services Program, ensuring high-quality care for students across public and private schools.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, promoting compliance with health regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with school administration, families, and healthcare providers to optimize student wellness and academic success.
- Develop and manage Individualized Health Care Plans for students with complex medical needs.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FERPA, and Connecticut Department of Public Health mandates.
- Coordinate health screenings, immunization compliance, and emergency response protocols for the district.
- Track health data trends and provide comprehensive reports to improve outcomes.
- Support professional development and orientation for nursing staff to maintain high standards of care.
School Nurse – Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring compliance with health regulations and policies.
- Provide direct nursing care, including illness assessment, medication administration, and emergency response.
- Develop and manage health care plans for students with chronic medical conditions.
- Coordinate health screenings and immunization compliance across the student population.

School Nurse – Supervisor Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN license in Connecticut.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; 3 years preferred.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Connecticut school health regulations, HIPAA, and FERPA.
- Current CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and district leadership.
