Medical Planner Overview

  • The Medical Planner role involves translating client goals and care models into effective planning solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, users, designers, and technical teams to shape healthcare environments.

Medical Planner Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead medical planning processes for complex projects with clients and design teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment with healthcare regulations.
  • Manage client expectations and oversee consultant coordination for project documentation.
  • Resolve technical and design issues to produce innovative, constructible solutions.
  • Engage in public speaking and foster strong client relationships.
  • Utilize software tools like Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp for project modeling.
  • Contribute to master planning and strategic facility planning initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean-focused operational improvement processes to enhance project outcomes.

Medical Planner Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field is required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of healthcare design industry experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including FGI for Inpatient and Outpatient Facilities.
  • Experience with CON processes and Lean-focused operational improvement.
  • ACHA, Lean, and/or EDAC Certification is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with client relationship management expertise.
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various development stages.
