Urgent Care Physician Assistant Overview

  • The Urgent Care Physician Assistant provides exceptional patient-focused care under the supervision of a physician.
  • Manage patients across various settings, including office, hospital, and emergency departments.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient management plans.
  • Provide patient education on therapeutic regimens, health maintenance, and emotional well-being.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, including first assist roles and perioperative care.
  • Mentor less experienced physician assistants, enhancing team expertise and efficiency.

Urgent Care Physician Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and compile detailed patient medical histories.
  • Administer diagnostic tests and interpret results to identify deviations from normal.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • Develop and document patient management plans, ensuring continuity of care.

Urgent Care Physician Assistant Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA accredited program.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a physician assistant, preferably in urgent care or emergency settings.
  • California Physician Assistant License, National Provider Identifier, and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Advanced certification in specialty areas preferred for enhanced clinical expertise.
