Urgent Care Physician Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and compile detailed patient medical histories.
• Administer diagnostic tests and interpret results to identify deviations from normal.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develop and document patient management plans, ensuring continuity of care.
• Provide perioperative and postoperative care, including patient education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians on performance improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring seamless patient transitions.
• Mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Urgent Care Physician Assistant Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Minimum three years of experience as a physician assistant, preferably in urgent care or emergency settings.
• California Physician Assistant License, National Provider Identifier, and Basic Life Support certification required.
• Advanced certification in specialty areas preferred for enhanced clinical expertise.
• Competency in performing department-specific tasks and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a labor-management partnership environment.
