  • The Director of Nursing Maternal Child Health oversees administrative and operational functions ensuring safe and effective patient care delivery.
  • Promotes professional autonomy and fosters collaboration among medical and nursing staff for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, professional, and specialty standards within the department.
  • Develops departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives and the hospital’s mission.
  • Holds fiscal accountability for the department budget, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Provides leadership to ensure staff competency and professional growth through education and mentorship.

Director of Nursing Maternal Child Health Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Demonstrates expertise in clinical care and procedures within the maternal child health department.
  • Leads performance improvement initiatives, including monitoring, evaluation, and action plan development.
  • Develops and manages operational and capital budgets for the department.
  • Establishes staffing needs and ensures optimal productivity and resource utilization.

Director of Nursing Maternal Child Health Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required; management experience preferred.
  • Specialty certification preferred; BLS and NRP certifications required within one year.
  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities to promote professional growth and collaboration.
  • Proficient in computer skills and technical competencies relevant to the role.
  • Experience in budget development and resource optimization.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff, peers, and stakeholders.
