Customer Service/Call Center Representatives Overview

  • The Customer Service/Call Center Representative role focuses on delivering exceptional support to customers regarding billing, payments, and account inquiries.

  • Participate in the rollout of a new payment application, contributing to multiple phases of implementation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Financial Services, Billing, and Operations, to resolve customer issues effectively.

Customer Service/Call Center Representatives Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Handle customer inquiries via phone and email regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
  • Assist customers in navigating the MyIWS payment portal, including enrollment in autopay and online payments.
  • Explain billing system transitions and troubleshoot payment-related issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Document customer interactions, account updates, and resolutions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address customer concerns and improve service delivery.
  • Handle challenging customer situations with professionalism and a solution-focused approach.
  • Communicate recurring issues and process concerns to management for continuous improvement.
  • Support billing, accounts receivable follow-up, payment reconciliation, and credit hold inquiries.

Customer Service/Call Center Representatives Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of customer-facing experience in call centers, billing, or financial services.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication, with strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with payment processing systems such as Stripe, BillTrust, or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle challenging customer situations with patience, professionalism, and empathy.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to document interactions accurately.
  • Willingness to adapt to new systems and processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and comfort with explaining complex billing concepts to customers.
