Job Description

Staff Physician Overview

  • The Staff Physician will provide specialized care for patients with HIV/AIDS in an outpatient setting.
  • This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality healthcare services.

Staff Physician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Diagnose and treat patients with HIV/AIDS in a primary care outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with Practice Managers, Medical Assistants, and Registered Nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in shared call schedules to provide continuity of care.
  • Engage with the LGBTQ community to address specific healthcare needs.
  • Meet productivity targets and contribute to the organization’s healthcare goals.
  • Attend CME programs and maintain certifications as required by the role.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior healthcare staff when applicable.

Staff Physician Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Infectious Diseases.
  • Valid DEA and furnishing license required for prescribing medications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience treating HIV/AIDS patients; 5 years preferred.
  • AAHIVM Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory for patient care.
  • Ability to work onsite in a clinic setting, five days a week.
  • Comfortable working with and addressing the needs of the LGBTQ community.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage up to 15-18 patients daily.
