Staff Physician Overview

Staff Physician Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Diagnose and treat patients with HIV/AIDS in a primary care outpatient setting.
- Collaborate with Practice Managers, Medical Assistants, and Registered Nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in shared call schedules to provide continuity of care.
- Engage with the LGBTQ community to address specific healthcare needs.
- Meet productivity targets and contribute to the organization’s healthcare goals.
- Attend CME programs and maintain certifications as required by the role.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior healthcare staff when applicable.
Staff Physician Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Infectious Diseases.
- Valid DEA and furnishing license required for prescribing medications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience treating HIV/AIDS patients; 5 years preferred.
- AAHIVM Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory for patient care.
- Ability to work onsite in a clinic setting, five days a week.
- Comfortable working with and addressing the needs of the LGBTQ community.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage up to 15-18 patients daily.
