Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage and develop the accounting team through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, payroll administration, and multi-state tax requirements.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Optimize accounting processes and implement automation opportunities.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and debt obligations.
- Partner with external advisors to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws.

Accounting Manager Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA certification required; CMA or MST preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience; 3-5 years in management preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP, QuickBooks, and ADP systems.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance and employer tax accounts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytical capabilities.
- Proven leadership and team development skills in a fast-paced environment.
