Patient Recruitment Specialist Overview

  • The Patient Recruitment Specialist will support clinical trials by recruiting participants and ensuring compliance with study protocols.
  • This role involves screening and scheduling patients while maintaining accurate records in internal databases.
  • Work remotely with flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a private workspace free of distractions.
  • Collaborate with teams to meet study enrollment goals and cross-screen patients for multiple studies.
  • Apply knowledge of FDA, GCP, and HIPAA guidelines to ensure participant confidentiality and compliance.
  • Utilize multiple communication platforms, including phone, email, and SMS, to engage with study participants.
  • Leverage clinical experience and call center expertise to provide high-quality patient interactions.

Patient Recruitment Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as the primary contact for patients, providing information and scheduling appointments.
  • Recruit and pre-screen participants using established protocols and criteria.
  • Document patient needs and ensure transportation or accommodations as required.
  • Maintain and update patient records in internal databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve study enrollment targets and optimize recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct reminder calls and follow-ups to ensure participant engagement and commitment.
  • Adapt to changes in protocols and recruitment strategies to meet business needs.
  • Participate in team meetings to update recruitment progress and incorporate new information.

Patient Recruitment Specialist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, communications, or science-related field preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of call center, customer service, or clinical research experience.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare settings is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, with ability to manage multiple screens.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening abilities.
  • Access to high-speed internet meeting minimum requirements (70 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a remote setting.
