Paralegal Overview

Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage SEC and state regulatory filings for hedge funds, commodity pools, and private equity funds.
  • Interact daily with clients to address sales management and regulatory filing requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to gather information and prepare regulatory filings.
  • Maintain and supervise usage of the proprietary Blue Sky website for client needs.
  • Analyze fund offering documents to ensure compliance with SEC and state regulations.
  • Prepare and file SEC documents and Blue Sky notices with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide expertise in EDGAR Next filing requirements to streamline processes.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities effectively.

Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials.
  • 4-7 years of relevant paralegal experience at a law firm or hedge fund.
  • Familiarity with hedge funds, offering documents, and SEC filing processes.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and attorneys.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects under pressure and meet competing deadlines.
  • Notary commission preferred; willingness to obtain if not already commissioned.
