Job Description

AVP of Fund Accounting Overview

  • The AVP of Fund Accounting will oversee fund accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and collaborating with internal teams and external administrators.
  • Coordinate NAV finalization processes, investigate discrepancies, and manage fund administrator relationships for private fund structures.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, regulatory reporting, and investor communications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Operations, Tax, and Compliance to streamline workflows and enhance reporting processes.
  • Develop and implement procedures to optimize fund accounting operations and ensure compliance with governing documents.
  • Engage in strategic initiatives, special projects, and process improvements to support organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of management and incentive fee calculations and fund forecasts.

AVP of Fund Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee NAV finalization, P&L reconciliation, and allocation processes for private fund structures.
  • Review and reconcile management and incentive fee calculations as per fund governing documents.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including quarterly unaudited and annual audited reports.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the year-end audit process to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare monthly fund forecasts, performance estimates, and attribution reporting for senior management.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of fund accounting operations.
  • Review and approve expense allocations, operating budgets, and vendor payments.
  • Streamline processes and templates for fund legal documents and reporting workflows.
  • Contribute to firm-level strategic initiatives and special projects to enhance operational efficiency.

AVP of Fund Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant fund accounting experience, preferably within private fund structures.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience with Enfusion and Sage Intacct is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive team player attitude and strong work ethic to drive results.
  • Knowledge of credit fund structures and regulatory reporting is a plus.
