Associate – Credit Fund Accounting Overview

  • The Associate – Credit Fund Accounting plays a vital role in managing fund accounting operations within a leading financial services firm.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external fund administrators to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Engage in fund setup, operations, and ad hoc investor requests to support strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of GAAP financial statements and NAV estimates.

Associate – Credit Fund Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform monthly and quarterly fund closings with fund administrators, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Calculate and review management and incentive fee waterfalls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepare and review partners’ capital statements and fund expense reports.
  • Coordinate capital call and distribution calculations and notices with stakeholders.
  • Analyze monthly investor returns and NAV estimates for performance tracking.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements.
  • Collaborate with legal and investor relations teams on fund setup and operational matters.
  • Contribute to ad hoc reporting and special projects to support organizational goals.

Associate – Credit Fund Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in fund accounting or public accounting within financial services.
  • Big Four public accounting experience and CPA certification are preferred.
  • Proficiency in GAAP financial statements and NAV calculations is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for fee and expense reviews.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with private credit, public credit, private equity, and hedge fund accounting practices.
