Job Description

Senior Litigation Paralegal Overview

  • As a Senior Litigation Paralegal, you will support litigation processes from initial complaint through trial and appeal.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to draft pleadings, subpoenas, and other legal documents for complex litigation cases.
  • Coordinate e-filing and service processes for federal and state courts, ensuring compliance with judicial requirements.
  • Organize, review, and manage case documents, including productions, depositions, exhibits, and expert reports.
  • Conduct statistical and factual research, compiling data for analyses to support litigation strategies.
  • Assist in pre-trial activities, including witness binders, trial exhibits, and logistics coordination.
  • Attend trials and hearings, preparing exhibits and tracking evidence introduced during proceedings.
  • Supervise junior paralegals, providing guidance and ensuring efficient workflow management.
  • Engage with clients and vendors to facilitate smooth case management and communication.

Senior Litigation Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft legal documents, including subpoenas, deposition notices, and responses to discovery requests.
  • Coordinate e-filing processes and ensure compliance with court requirements.
  • Manage case documents, conducting keyword searches and maintaining privilege logs.
  • Summarize deposition transcripts and expert witness statements for trial preparation.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witness attendance.
  • Attend trials, tracking exhibits introduced and maintaining demonstratives.
  • Perform legal research and cite-checking to ensure accuracy in court filings.
  • Supervise junior paralegals, ensuring adherence to firm standards and deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients and vendors to support litigation processes effectively.

Senior Litigation Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in litigation databases; familiarity with Relativity is advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Experience supervising junior staff and managing workflows.
