Job Description

Litigation Paralegal Overview

  • The Litigation Paralegal will support litigation practice groups in all phases of the litigation process, from initial complaint to trial and appeal.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to draft legal documents, manage case files, and coordinate e-filing processes for federal and state courts.
  • Assist in organizing, reviewing, and managing case documents, including productions, depositions, exhibits, and expert reports.
  • Perform legal research, cite-checking, and proofreading of court filings and related legal documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Support pre-trial activities, including preparing witness binders, organizing trial exhibits, and coordinating trial logistics.
  • Attend and assist at trials and hearings, tracking exhibits and maintaining demonstratives and evidence records.
  • Supervise junior paralegals and liaise with clients and vendors to ensure seamless case management.
  • Leverage technical skills to utilize litigation databases and software tools effectively, ensuring efficient document management.

Litigation Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft legal documents, including subpoenas, deposition notices, and discovery requests and responses, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Coordinate e-filing and service processes for court submissions, collaborating with the Managing Attorney’s office.
  • Organize, review, and manage case documents, including productions, depositions, exhibits, and expert reports, within designated databases.
  • Perform legal research, cite-checking, and proofreading of court filings and related legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in pre-trial activities, including preparing witness binders, organizing trial exhibits, and coordinating trial logistics.

Litigation Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required, with strong academic credentials.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation matters within a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in litigation databases; familiarity with Relativity is preferred.
  • Strong written and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a team environment, and handle overtime as required.
  • Available for a hybrid work arrangement, with physical presence in the office as needed.
