Job Description

GP Accounting Overview

  • The GP Accounting role involves managing financial operations for General Partner entities and investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with the Fund Finance team to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance processes.
  • Administer carried interest arrangements, partner economics tracking, and related GP investment activities.
  • Support quarterly and annual close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting packages.
  • Coordinate GP admission processes and partner reporting requirements.
  • Drive process improvements leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Engage in special projects, financial analysis, and reporting to enhance operational scalability.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with opportunities for professional growth and collaboration.

GP Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain accounting and reporting for GP entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of investment data.
  • Execute quarterly and annual close processes, including capital activity and allocations.
  • Administer carry schedules, allocation waterfalls, and partner economics tracking.
  • Coordinate GP-related operations, tax compliance, and investor communications.
  • Support audits, partner reporting, and year-end carry compensation communications.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with external fund administrators to oversee capital calls and distributions.
  • Prepare dashboards, decks, and ad hoc financial analysis for GP entities.

GP Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred for this senior-level position.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance; 6 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with GP entities, carried interest, or partnership accounting is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage complex entity structures and work across jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, and emerging technologies to optimize workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
