• The Nurse Director Birth Center oversees 24-hour administrative operations of the Labor & Delivery and NICU departments.
• Provides leadership in patient care delivery, departmental planning, and regulatory compliance for maternal and neonatal care services.
• Collaborates with physicians, staff, and administration to ensure optimal patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Manages departmental budgets, performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Supervises and evaluates nursing personnel, ensuring effective utilization of resources and adherence to hospital policies.
• Provides oversight for patient care across adolescent, adult, and older adult populations in a perinatal acute care setting.
• Assumes house supervisory responsibilities, including responding to hospital codes and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Works closely with the Nurse Executive to address nursing issues and interpret hospital policies.

• Formulate and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
• Maintain performance improvement activities and participate in hospital-wide initiatives.
• Provide direction for patient care in operative environments, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Respond to hospital codes and emergencies, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up actions.

Nurse Director Birth Center Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced nursing certifications preferred.
• Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a perinatal nurse in an acute care setting.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of maternal and neonatal care practices and healthcare regulations.
• Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and performance improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with staff, physicians, and administration.
